Lee Da Jun began learning Dizi from the age of nine when he joined Evergreen Primary School Chinese Orchestra under the tutelage of Mr. Eugene Ng Hsien Han, currently the Ensemble Manager of Dicapella, the one and only Dizi ensemble in Southeast Asia.
In 2014, he won first prize in the Dizi Junior Category of the National Chinese Music Competition organized by the National Arts Council Singapore. He took part in the same competition in 2012 and was awarded Certificate of Merit as a finalist. He attained Distinction in Dizi Grade 3 and Grade 6 of NUS Chinese Instrumental Examination in 2011 and 2013 respectively. In 2015, Dajun completed his Grade 9 from China Conservatory of Music with merit.
He has represented his primary school Chinese Orchestra in several events which includes Navy Open House 2013 and North Zone National Day Celebration. He also took part in the Singapore Youth Festival Chinese Orchestra Central Judging 2012 & 2014 and achieved Gold with Honour. In 2012, he was selected to participate in the Shanghai & Hangzhou Music Exchange Programme which was held in China.
Da Jun has great passion in Dizi performance and will continue to hone his skill. Taking this opportunity, Da Jun would like to thank Mr Ng Hsien Han, Prof Zhan Yong Ming and Mr Li Zhen for giving him invaluable guidance.
